It has been confirmed that TOWIE's Joey Essex, Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Alfonso Ribeiro, Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter, TV host Matthew Wright and Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington are officially part of the I’m a Celebrity show this year. These coming weeks, these are the people are going to be rainforest campers down under.
Others who made it to this year’s line-up include ex Westlife singer Kian Egan, EastEnders star Laila Morse, snooker player Steve Davis, model Amy Willerton and Princess Di wedding dress designer David Emanuel.
Even this early on, Joey is already considered the 5/2 favourite by bookies Paddy Power to be crowned King of the Jungle.
Talk show host Matthew Wright admitted that he is terrified.
"If you could create this horrible mixture of Sinitta and Helen Flanagan, then that is pretty close to the creature that would be my nightmare camp mate".
"I know I will be teary. I just don't want to act as big a girl as Paul Burrell. That was the most humiliating moment I have seen on television and my wife, Amelia, worries I can out-do Paul Burrell. I am still hoping I won't."
Single and ready to mingle model Amy Willerton said: "I have no idea who is going in the jungle but I am going in knowing I might meet someone in there…”
Alfonso Ribeiro, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star, said: "I accepted the offer because it was a chance to conquer some fears of mine, I am scared of them because you can't talk or reason to them.
"I have not actually seen much of I'm A Celebrity, which is the reason why I am doing it. If I had seen more of it, I would probably say 'hell no'."
Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter said: "I have chosen three [bikinis to take in], but not that anybody will see them.
Laila Morse, famed for playing Big Mo in EastEnders, said "I went camping once, but I slept in the car with my duvet! I didn't want to get out!"
Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington said: "I will be really pleased if I get halfway. That is my target."
Snooker champ Steve Davis said: "There seems to be a growing opinion that I'm not as boring as people once thought and it's my aim while I am in the jungle to put a stop to this once and for all!"
Westlife singer Kian Egan commented: "Without a shadow of doubt, the hardest thing is going to be being away from my boy. I am not going to be able to see him or know what is going on with him. That will be tough."
Fashion guru David Emanuel said "So sometimes you have to rise to the challenge, I survived cancer. Can I survive the jungle?"
Meanwhile, Joey Essex gave hint as to what the viewers can expect. He said: "This is a chance for me to show everyone. I would like to think that I would be the joker of the camp."
"I will have my shirt off all the time.”
