Illegal Drone Catching Eagles

Eagles are being trained to grab drones from the sky.

Dutch police are training eagles to grab illegal drones out of the sky.

 

In a video posted online, an eagle was seen grabbing a drone before flying off.

 

The Dutch National Police said that this is one of the techniques that they are testing to counter the increasing number of drones used in public. They are working closely with a company called Guard From Above in training the eagles.

 

"The bird sees the drone as prey and takes it to a safe area, a place where he does not suffer from other birds or humans," says a statement from the police.

 

The police are now looking into some sort of protective clothing for the birds so they will not be hurt by the blades on a drone.
