'I did my best': Why William Shatner shunned Leonard Nimoy's funeral
William Shatner, who was heavily criticised online for failing to attend Leonard Nimoy’s funeral, provided a brief explanation.

William Shatner was heaviy criticised online after he failed to attend the funeral of Leonard Nimoy, his Star Trek co-star and friend.
Leonard, famous for playing Spock, died on Friday at the age of 83 due to pulmonary lung disease.
Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in the series, said that he was not able to attend the funeral as he was at a charity event. On Monday, he said: “I did my best, but chose to be with the Red Cross.” He added that he continues to “celebrate the living” and “mourn the dead.”
Star Trek legend Leonard was laid to rest in a traditional Jewish ceremony. He was buried near his Los Angeles home after an intimate service that was attended by family and close friends.
Meanwhile, Shatner, was branded as “Captain Jerk” by some on social media.
