How to Share Music Streams

How to share music with Spotify, Google Play Music and Apple Music.

It does not matter what music streaming service you’re using, there are plenty of ways that you can make your music streaming experience more social. The biggest names in the industry, namely Spotify, Google Play Music and Apple Music, allow you to publicly share what you’re listening for everyone else to check out.

 

Spotify has a standout feature that allows users to create collaborative playlists and spread the tunes without other people feeling bombarded with link-stuffed notifications. Users simply have to select the playlist they want to share, click “Make Collaborative” and send out the one link. Users who follow the link are then allowed to stream the whole playlist as well as add songs, which will flow into the mix for all to see.

 

Apple Music also offers ways to share music with friends. Although it does not have the same social focus as Spotify and users are not allowed to make collaborative playlist, Apple Music subscribers can share what they are listening to by selecting “Show on My Profile and in Search” when creating a new playlist. It also has a section called “Friends Are Listening to” that shows what songs are included in the playlist of the people you follow.

 

Google Play Music is more social than the first two music streaming services. It allows users to share individual tracks by sending somebody a public URL. Clicking the link allows the recipient to play the song or start a free streaming audio station based on the track. Beyond that, subscribers can make and share public playlists.
