Many students take help with writing from individual experts. However, one of the most common types of essays is an article analysis essay. It is used for evaluating the arguments and ideas that are presented in the article. These essays mainly comprise an introduction, three to four supporting paragraphs, and a closing paragraph called the conclusion. Therefore, every piece must have a well-stated thesis telling the reader what to expect from the remaining paper and some solid research supporting the idea.
Research and notes
Read relevant articles and take notes on a rough paper or in footnotes. Read the same item twice or thrice to clear the concepts and other confusions. Highlight the essential and meaningful passages and make a connection while thinking critically about what you are going through. Take a blank sheet or use margins to document the response of the paper.
Check other sources for supporting your main points and gathering more ideas. There are several formal responses written about academic articles. They have the ideas and tips for you to get a more in-depth knowledge of the item you have chosen to write. Use an online academic database or a library section for finding references.
Analyze the contradictory arguments that you have selected. Logically think through each perspective and search for weaknesses and strengths. Come up with your definite opinion related to the topic.
Pre-write
Write one thesis statement summarizing your thoughts. This sentence must state the primary point of the essay. Although the thesis statement is written first, keep in mind that it must be revisited at the end of the writing process to make any necessary changes. Make up three points for backing up your thesis. Later these points will become the topic sentence and support every paragraph of your essay.
The addition of relevant quotations can help back up the added points quickly. It can be any that you find pertinent to your article. Add up the source for clarification and references.
Write and edit
Start your essay with a solid introduction and add relevant information regarding the article in your research. Make it up to the thesis statement that is the last sentence of the leading paragraph. Use those topic sentences for forming three supporting sections. Every topic sentence must act as a base for the remaining paragraphs and summarize its content.
Make a concluding paragraph restating the main points differently and uniquely. This paragraph is not lengthier than the other sections and can comprise a few sentences.
Proofread your essay and ask the help of an expert to eliminate errors to make it look perfect. Reread it yourself to check the mistakes and grammatical errors.
Little things can make a huge difference. Keep track of everything that you write and how you write.
