How Much Water Is Enough?
Is eight to ten glasses of water every day really enough?

Growing up, we were taught that drinking eight to ten glasses of water every day is great for our health. Water, which makes up more than two thirds of our body, is required for almost every function; from flushing out toxins to digestion. However, knowing exactly how much water to drink can be tricky at times especially if its too hot outside or if you are exercising. Drinking too little or too much poses health risks.
Experts say that your water intake should depend on the level of the activity that you engage in, your physical health, your size and weight, and whether it’s a hot day or not. Experts say that it’s okay for healthy individuals to drink little water several times a day or drink according to their thirst levels.
People who are dehydrated must see their doctors as soon as possible. Symptoms include not passing urine for more than eight hours, feeling lightheaded or lethargic, confusion, or a pulse that feels rapid.
Meanwhile, you should increase your water intake if you’re feeling thirsty all the time and passing dark coloured, strong-smelling urine.
