Home Automation Virtual Butler
Totally hands-free smart home acts like a virtual butler.
11:00 29 August 2017
The Gold Home of the Year award-winning smart home has taken home automation to a whole new level. The house is designed to do more than just adjusting the lighting and temperature and opening motorised shades; it also dispenses commands, like advising visitors where to park and the owners that they have visitors.
The house uses the Elan system, created by an integration firm called Your Tech of Naples. It is equipped with 26 cameras that provide owners with a bird’s eye view of their property. Real-time footages from all 26 cameras are accessible on any iPad or smartphone and displayed continuously on a special 32-inch screen mounted beneath the glass top of a desk in the home office. The house’s electronic locks on its exterior doors are equipped with hands-free unlocking system.
The camera at the main entrance works by streaming and recording video as well as triggering certain events to happen based on the identification of an incoming vehicle’s license plate or visitor’s face. When the camera recognises a visitor, it automatically triggers the gate to unlatch and swing open.
The home’s equipment include Elan automation, Hikvision security cameras, powerline control system lighting control, doorbird video doorbells, Mighty mule motorised gates, Yamaha A/V receiver, Honeywell security, and definitive technology speakers.
