Tom Cruise's fiancée Katie Holmes is reportedly spending hours a day worshipping at a Scientology 'church'.

The pregnant actress is said to be visiting the Hollywood centre up to three times a day to learn about the bizarre sci-fi cult.

During her visits, Katie - who converted from Catholicism to Scientology after falling for Tom - is being told by leading members of the faith she is constantly surrounded by the "traumatised spirits of aliens".

The brunette beauty has reportedly withdrawn from family and friends as she devotes more of her time to the cult.

A friend is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Her family are becoming very worried. They don't know what she is being taught.

"She is becoming more distant and seems to worship Scientology as much as she worships Tom."

Last year, it was claimed Katie is set to give birth in silence.

Scientologists believe the bizarre ritual should be carried out to prevent children from being traumatised as they are born.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard stated in his book, 'Dianetics': "Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save both the sanity of the mother and child and safeguard the home to which they will go."
