Harrogate Council Deliberate Meeting Streaming
Harrogate Council to decide if they will allow the changes to the authority's protocol on filming, recording and photographing of meetings.
12:20 25 June 2019
Harrogate Council is set to make a decision as to whether they will allow changes to the authority’s protocol on filming, recording and photographing of meetings. If approved, members of the public will be permitted to record at will as long as they inform council staff ahead of the meeting.
A report on the matter states: "The purpose of this being to enable officers to ensure that people are aware that they are being filmed or recorded, and that the recording is of the meeting, not of the people in the public gallery,"
The move aims to keep the council in step with Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulation legislation.
