Diego Maradona has been caught on tape slapping a journalist who allegedly winked at his ex-partner.

Diego Maradona has been caught on tape slapping a journalist and calling him “idiot” as his children watched from his car. Allegedly, the journalist winked at his ex-partner Veronica Ojeda.

 

The 1986 World Cup winning captain said: ‘Why mess with my wife if I do not mess with you?’

 

The video then shows the former Argentinian footballer getting back in his car before driving off. 

 

Maradona has had a colourful career. In 1986, he helped get knocked out England from the World Cup after he scored a crucial, controversial goal with his hand in an incident that was dubbed 'The Hand of God'.

 

Eight years later, he was sent home from the World Cup in USA after he failed a drug test.
