High street chain Halfords Autocentres offers drivers free brakes for life under its Brakes4Life lifetime guarantee. The first in the UK to offer such incentive, it is designed to crack down on the cost of vehicle maintenance while encouraging owners to make sure their brakes are in full working order.
Martin Barber, Halfords Autocentres brakes expert says: "Poor brakes can leave motorists facing additional unexpected costs when they take their car in for a service or MOT.
"However, Brakes4Life removes that risk and we find that when we explain that it really does cover them and their current as well as future car they own it results in some surprised and very satisfied customers.”
Brakes4Life is a one-off payment and the cost to change brake pads and disc will vary on cars. Everyone who buys brake pads or shoes from over 300 Halfords Autocentres across the UK qualify for the incentive. Free brake checks is also offered and is comprised of an inspection on all components of the car’s brake system including brake pads, shoes, calipers, hoses and handbrake linkages by ATA trained technicians.
The brake check will take an approximately an hour. If a new set of brake pads or a repair is necessary, mechanics will aim for a same-day turnaround.
