Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's marriage could be heading for trouble, sources have claimed.

The Oscar-winning actress and the Coldplay frontman, who married in December 2003, have had a series of rows and friends have claimed to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper that their relationship is going through "an incredibly rough patch".

The couple, who have a nine-month-old daughter, Apple, allegedly had a row in New York restaurant Next Door, after they couldn't get a table.

A source told the paper: "The argument began about the table but turned into more personal things."

Sources claim the couple are under stress over their hectic work schedules brought about because Chris is working on the band's third album while Gwyneth is about to begin shooting new movie 'Running With Scissors'.

Last year, it was claimed Chris had upset Gwyneth for "deserting" her for work.

The singer had been spending up to 18 hours a day in the recording studio.

According to a friend, Gwyneth was said to be furious with Chris for not spending being at home with his family more.

A spokesman for the couple denied the couple were arguing, saying: "I don't know about the incident in New York and have no further comment to add."
