'Grease' star Jeff Conaway is reportedly 'fighting for his life' after suffering a brain haemorrhage and broken bones.
The actor, who found international fame playing T-Bird Kenickie opposite John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the classic 1978 musical, was rushed to hospital after he fell down the stairs at his home in Los Angeles.
Conaway was given emergency surgery to treat his fractured neck, broken hip and other injuries.
According to some reports, his family has been told to get his affairs in order.
His girlfriend Vicky Lizzi, said: "Jeff thinks these are his final days. The story is very complicated, which is why I have to tell it."
A source added: "Everyone is praying he'll be OK. It's not clear how he fell but that's not his family's priority at the moment."
Conaway's health woes have made headlines before. The star was infamously treated for his alcohol and drug addiction on VH1's 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew' in 2008.
Dr Drew Pinksy wrote on his Twitter page: "Jeff Conaway's family has asked me to thank people for the prayers and well wishes. Jeff is awake and stable awaiting surgery on his hip."
Conaway is also known for his part in the long-running US comedy series 'Taxi'. He played out-of-work actor Bobby Wheeler from 1978 to 1981.
In 1980, he married Olivia Newton-John's sister Rona, but they divorced five years later. They have a son called Emerson.
Over the course of the 80s, Conaway was treated for a substance abuse. His problems returned in the mid-2000s.
