12:49 29 November 2018
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport has launched the £1million Digital Leadership Fund to help charities boost their digital skills.
The fund aims to give sector leaders access to training or subsidised courses designed to help them understand how technology can improve their services. Successful applicants will be trained how to build a social media presence, maximise online fundraising tools, modernise operational delivery using IT systems, and take advantage of innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
The culture secretary Jeremy Wright said: "We want charitable organisations to thrive in the digital age and are committed to helping them get the most out of technology, which can act as an enormous force for good.
"Through this programme, charity leaders will have more opportunities to enhance skills and boost employee confidence while creating a greater and more positive impact on people and their communities.
Interested organisations are encouraged to apply until 7 December.
