Google Maps to show which times to avoid individual shops and restaurants.

Google Map is offering a brand new feature that uses location tracking data to show people when specific shops, restaurants, cafes, gums, and other outlets are likely to be at their busiest. This helps customers rescheduled their visits so they can avoid wasting time falling in line.

 

Google tracks where people are using location data logged by apps on smartphones, information that allows the firm to show traffic congestion on its road maps.

 

In a post on its Google+ page it said: "Do you ever find yourself trying to avoid long lines or wondering when is the best time to go grocery shopping, pick up coffee or hit the gym. You're in luck!

 

"Now, you can avoid the wait and see the busiest times of the week at millions of places and businesses around the world directly from Google Search.

 

"For example, just search for "Blue Bottle Williamsburg", tap on the title and see how busy it gets throughout the day. Enjoy your extra time!"
