Google Mini Home
Google Home now has a mini version. It offers the same functionality for fraction of the cost.

The £49 device is cheap enough to get you started in the new world of smart home voice assistants. With its affordable asking price, you can get four of them to cover the whole house for less than £200. With this number, you can achieve multi-room audio support. This also allows you to control smart home techs, such as heating and lights, wherever you stand.
So, what’s the difference between the £129 Google Home and £49 Google Home Mini? Although both devices offer the same functionality, the Mini has less powerful audio hardware. Thus, it is perfect for you if you are not placing the utmost importance on audio quality. The Mini comes in a choice of three colours: Coral, Chalk and Charcoal. However, it lacks Google Home’s customisable bases.
Is it better than Amazon Echo?
Both the Amazon Echo and the Google Home offer reasonably cheap entry points (both cost £49). Both offer the same functionality. But what makes Google Home a better choice between the two is Google Assistant. It does not require you to search for and enable skills in order to answer your questions. This is possible because it hails from Google, the king of online search. Google Assistant is far more intelligent and more resourceful than Alexa.
