The Mustang driven by Nicolas Cage in his movie 'Gone In 60 Seconds' was expected to sell around $300,000.
However, it seems that the modified 1967 Mustang GT500’s movie status has increased its value by more than three folds. It sold for $1million last week at Dana Mecum’s 26th Original Spring Classic 2013 sale in Indiana.
The car was reportedly built specifically for the movie, and had been part of a private collection since it appeared on the big screen. It features 5.7-litre V8 generating 298kW, a four-speed manual gearbox, lowered suspension, and 17” period alloy rims.
