Gigabit Broadband for Soho
Ontix Limited switches gigabit broadband service in London’s Soho.
10:30 23 December 2019
Ontix Limited is bringing speeds of up to a gigabit per second to the Berwick Street area, where one of London’s oldest street markets is found. The next-generation wireless infrastructure-as-a-service provider is delivering the service through innovative Fixed Wireless Access connectivity.
Antony Tomlinson, Chief Executive of Ontix, comments: "This is a milestone deployment for Ontix. We are incredibly excited to be rolling out fibre-like, gigabit broadband in central London, connecting areas where fibre deployment has been economically challenging, and finally ending the frustration of underserved customers. Most people’s experience of using broadband is already wireless – using devices connected to Wi-Fi – so our Fixed Wireless Access solution offers an unmatched solution for quickly, easily and cost-effectively meeting pent-up consumer demand for lightning-fast, gigabit service, right across the capital and beyond."
Ontix Fixed Wireless Service will be launched nationwide starting in 2020. The firm is pioneering a transformative model for deploying next-generation wireless infrastructure that significantly reduces cost and time-to-market. It aims to make it cheaper, easier and quicker for mobile operators and other wireless providers to add small cells to their networks through its turnkey solution.
