Giant sculpture marks release of Cars 2

Taking a staggering 100 hours and using 5,554 toy cars, talented model maker Jay Sheppard has made a life-size model of Cars 2 race car, superstar, Lightning McQueen.
The giant sculpture, created out of thousands of Cars 2 toy cars marks the release of Cars 2 out on 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray™ & DVD now.
Facts and figures:
- The total number of cars used was: 5554. This means that the sculpture includes:
- If each car was placed in a line, the total length would be 499.86 m, which is the equivalent of 5 Football Pitches
- If all the cars used were stacked on top of each other, they would reach 277 metres – almost 3 times as tall as Big Ben!
- Total weight of the sculpture: 4165.5kg, which is 6.5 times the weight of the average F1 car and he equivalent of 63.2 Lewis Hamiltons (who stars in the film)
Directed by John Lasseter, and featuring acting legend Sir Michael Caine in his Pixar debut as top British spy Finn McMissile, Disney Pixar's Cars 2 is the follow up to the 2006 Golden Globe award winning movie, Cars.
The release, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Pixar Animation Studios, ramps up the excitement, the thrills and the action with all the charm and humour of the original.
