Paul Feig, the newly confirmed director of Ghostbusters 3, has confirmed on Twitter that the reboot will centre around an all-female team. He said: "Yes, it will star hilarious women. That's who I'm gonna call."
"It sounds great to me, it sounds as good an idea as any other," he told the Toronto Star. "There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapour.
"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny – God, she’s funny!"
"I like this girl Linda Cardinelli a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."
Ghostbusters 3 will be produced by Hollywood veteran Ivan Reitman and will be co-written by Katie Dippold who penned The Heat starring Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock as mismatched cops.
