Full Fibre Heads to Bolton

CityFibre is set to bring full fibre connectivity to Bolton following a £37million investment.

CityFibre has confirmed plans to bring gigabit speed, full fibre connectivity to nearly every home and business in Bolton following a £37million investment.

The announcement was welcomed by residents who have had to deal with slow and unreliable internet connections that made it difficult for them to work and study from home during the pandemic.

Based on statistics, around 80per cent of UK homes still connect to the internet via networks built for telephones. For this reason, CityFibre is investimg up to £4billion to build full fibre infrastructure as part of a scheme to reach up to 8million homes and businesses across the United Kingdom.

Work is already underway in Bolton to bring full fibre services. Meanwhile, Farnworth residents can now connect to gigabit-capable broadband services from TalkTalk while additional providers are expected to join the network soon to cover more areas in Bolton over the coming months.
