Frame Styler Virtual Glasses Technology
Manchester-based opticians introduce virtual try-on technology that takes the guesswork of buying glasses.
11:31 27 August 2018
A new technology that allows customers to see how they look wearing glasses from every angle has been launched by opticians based in Manchester Arndale, Salford, Stretford, Fallowfield, Swinton, Wythenshawe, Harpurhey, Openshaw, Eccles, Sale, Altrincham and Manchester Fort.
The virtual try-on technology has been designed to recommend 36 frames to each customer. The customer will then be able to flick through images of themselves wearing the different frames without taking their glasses off.
Louise Redknapp says: ‘For me, Frame Styler represents the future of shopping. I’m a mum-of-two – I don’t have time to spend hours trying things on! Frame Styler meant I had all the options right in front of me and could quickly create a shortlist of the frames I liked the most. It also meant I tried on styles and colours I previously would have never gone near in a million years – and guess what? I loved them all!’
Amanda Pedder, retail director at Specsavers Wythenshawe, Fallowfield and Swinton, says: ‘The Specsavers Confidence Scale shows that people want to branch out with their frame choices but confusion over different styles and lack of confidence is holding them back. We wanted to make it easier for them. Our Frame Styler technology uses an image of the face to work out what styles are best suited to any face shape.
