Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev 'Deteriorating' In Hospital
The last leader of the Soviet Union confirmed that he is hooked up to a monitor.

Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev is in the hospital fighting for his life, according to reports which were confirmed by the man himself.
The 83-year-old was quoted saying: "My state of health has been moderate for a week and today I am in hospital. My health is deteriorating."
He added: "I'm hooked up to a monitor."
"You know my character. I am determined to fight for my life."
However, Mr Gorbachev’s interpreter, Pavel Palazhchenko said that he was “feeling normal” and that there is nothing to worry about. He added that Mr Gorbachev was speaking with strong voice.
Last year, Mr Gorbachev’s had to deny rumours that he died after RIA Novosto posted reports of his demise.
Using an expletive to describe those behind the rumours he said they were "hoping in vain" and added: "I'm alive and well."
Mr Gorbachev, who is a Nobel Peace laureate, is said to be suffering from diabetes. Although he remains active in Russian politics, he appeared worn-out during recent public appearances.
