Suranne Jones, who played Corrie's tarty Karen McDonald for four years, will be featuring again on our screens soon, but this time wearing cardigans, not crop-tops.

The 27-year-old actress is playing the part of a private dick in a new ITV drama called Vincent, opposite London hard-man Ray Winstone.

"I have to wear a minimiser bra to make sure it's all packed away," Suranne told the Daily Star.

"And my character Beth wears cardigans, not miniskirts!"

Suranne assures her fans that Beth is still a stunner, but perhaps not for the reasons that Corrie fans will remember.

"She is sexy, because she knows her own mind," she said.

Meanwhile Suranne, who is starring in the West End in A Few Good Men, is looking for love.

"If there is anybody single who wants to ask me out, then yeah - I'm quite up for a date," she said.

You can take the girl out of Corrie, but you can't take the Karen out of the girl.
