Apple has been awarded patent for collapsible technology. The patent reveals that the device may have a hinge or other bendable joint and will use carbon nanotubes allowing it to be folded down in the middle.
The patent was filed on August 28 using an engineer’s name. It was officially awarded to Apple today. The patent uses the iPhone name and shows several images depicting the iPhone design including its distinctive home button.
The patent says: 'Conductive carbon nanotube paths can form signal paths that are flexible and resistant to cracking.'
The patent suggests that the future iPhone will be made from plastic, aluminium, ceramic, glass, and fibre.
The company’s latest device was iPhone 7 released in September.
