First Glasgow, the city's bus operator, has recently rolled out express mode for Apple Pay and advises passengers to avoid paying cash especially as much as possible during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Express Mode for Apple Pay allows customers to pay for their bus tickets using their Apple Watch or iPhone without unlocking the device or even using an app. The hassle-free tap-and-go technology can be used by simply holding the device near the reader before boarding.
Graeme Macfarlan, Commercial Director at First Glasgow, said: “During these unprecedented times, we wanted to offer our customers another cashless way to pay for their bus travel and to make life as easy as possible. The new system will give more options to customers choosing to travel with us during these difficult times.”
“A lot of our customers in Glasgow are already using cashless methods to access our services and this is another innovative method to avoid using cash that makes it quick and easy to pay for your bus travel with the new Express Mode on Apple Pay technology.”
To set up Apple Pay, simply open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap +. Then, follow the steps to add your credit or debit cards. To enable Express Mode for Apple Pay, go to Settings and select your chosen card in Wallet and Apple Pay under Express Travel Card.
