Faster Broadband Heading to Henley
Airband to bring faster broadband connection in villages around Henley.
19:46 25 February 2020
Villages around Henley, which include Harpsden, Binfield Heath and Rotherfield Greys, are set to have a faster broadband connection - thanks to Airband and funding from Oxfordshire County Council and more than £2.8million in grants.
Airband will install a network of fibre-optic cables between the town and Shiplake and Sonning Common in order to deliver the service. They will also remove old copper cables in the process. When completed, the scheme is expected to bring faster and more reliable internet connection to more than 600 homes and more than 900 individual businesses.
A council spokesman said: “Faster broadband is a game changer for rural areas and access to ultrafast connectivity will help so many rural businesses to prosper and grow.
“A lot of time, money and effort has gone into this project because providing better connectivity for our rural areas is so important, both now and in the future.”
