TripAdvisor has complied reviews for the best zoos in the United Kingdom to make the ultimate list of the top 10 best zoos in Britain. Chester Zoo was crowned the greatest zoo in the UK with Colchester Zoo close behind.

Colchester's animal kingdom ranked as the eight best in Europe based on individual reviews compiled by the travel website.

 

Meanwhile, the top European zoo, based on more than 1,000 reviews, was Loro Parque at Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife while the best world zoo award was Henry Doorly Zoo at Omaha in Nebraska, USA. 

 

James Kay, Tripadvisor spokesman said: “These awards are based on the millions of reviews and opinions written by our global community of travellers.

 

“So if you’re looking for some inspiration for a great family day out, the UK winners are a great addition to your summer holidays hit list.”
