Earlier this year, Facebook unveiled Spaces, a VR app that allows users to create media and hang out with friends in an interactive virtual environment. Users can turn themselves into an animated avatar and share 360-degree photos and videos.
Yesterday, at the Oculus Connect developer conference in San Jose, California, Facebook has announced new features to Spaces. The new features allow users to bring in their own photos and videos into the app and craft interactive 3D objects using creative tools. These can be taken out of VR and then posted directly to Facebook.
In addition, users are now allowed to stream existing library of 360-degree video using Spaces’ 2D vide live streaming tool.
The firm added that users would also be able to illustrate within Space using the VR tool Quill. With 3D posts, they are allowed to craft object that can exist as virtual objects placed into real-life scenes and exist in VR. They can also be posted in one’s newsfeed.
