CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Ltd has submitted an application to Bucks Council to build a 15-metre steel and green 5G monopole on the corner of Rose Avenue and Ashfield Way in Hazlemere.
In an application document, Hutchison 3G said that it intends to "upgrade its network" and "provide 5G coverage to the local area as a result.
However, residents are not happy about the plans. An individual who lives right next to the proposed site said: "I have not received any letters or news about a new monopole. Its siting is terrible and needs to be reconsidered."
Another resident said that the pole "will look so unsightly and ruin the overall look of the street" while another objector branded it "a complete eyesore."
Steve Baker MP said he had been contacted by residents, adding: “I believe good mobile connectivity is important for people living locally, but I know some people have concerns the monopole will be sited in a residential area.
“I would be grateful if you could please consider what steps might be taken to secure the widest possible public consent.”
