Ashley Jensen and her husband Terence Beesley are expecting their first child.

The 'Extras' actress, who married her partner in 2007, is due to give birth in the autumn.

Her representative confirmed the news to People magazine and said that the star is very "excited".

Jensen, who also plays Christina McKinney in hit US TV show 'Ugly Betty', sparked rumours that she was expecting when she was pictured with a swollen tummy in early July.

Her character in 'Ugly Betty' became pregnant after being blackmailed into becoming a surrogate mother for the villainous Wilhelmina Slater.

Jensen's role in Rickey Gervais' 'Extras' won her a British Comedy Award in 2005 and saw her nominated for an Emmy in 2008.
