The actor who played evil Trevor Morgan in EastEnders has won a best actor gong at a French film festival.
Alex Ferns' character's bullying and abuse succeeded in scaring viewers as much as his battered on-screen wife, Little Mo.
Even when she finally snapped and hit him over the head with an iron, Trevor refused to die and came back to terrorise her again.
He had to actually burn to death in a house fire before his evil presence could be erased from Albert Square.
And now Alex's formidable acting talents on the big screen have won him a top award at the Cherbourg Film Festival.
The Scottish actor played the role of reforming gangster Jimmy Kerrigan in the Glasgow-based Man Dancin'.
He said he was "absolutely delighted" to receive the honour, adding: "It's great the movie is getting the recognition it deserves."
The film's screenwriter, Sergio Casci, added: "Alex is electrifying on the big screen. I think he's got it in him to be an international film star."
