Radio DJ Chris Evans is to return to TV screens for the first time since 2005, it has been confirmed.

The former 'Big Breakfast' presenter  will make his TV comeback as cover for Adrian Chiles on 'The One Show'.

Evans' last presenting work came on ITV magazine show 'OFI Sunday', which lasted only six episodes in 2005.

A BBC spokesperson said: "In 2008 Chris Evans was contracted to fill in for Adrian when he was on holiday. His move to host the Radio 2 Breakfast Show... means he will now be able to fulfil that commitment."

Evans's TV credits include hit Channel 4 shows 'TFI Friday' and 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush'.
