Joe Woolford, 21, and Jake Shakeshaft, 20, both former contestants on The Voice UK, have won a public vote with You’re Not Alone, a song “about unity and love.”
The last time UK won the contest was in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves’ Love Shine A Light. Last year, Electro Velvet, came in third from the last after scoring just five points.
Frontwoman Katrina Leskanich is positive that the country can take home the prize again this year.
She said: "Everybody said in 1997 that we couldn't win it because of political votes but it's an absolute crock.
"We have everything we need to win it this year."
Joe Woolford was one of Rita Ora’s finalist in The Voice 2015. Commenting on being chosen to represent the country in the prestigious competition, he said: "It feels amazing. We're just so proud."
Jake Shakeshaft added: "It's going to be incredible. We hope we make you all proud.”
"It means the world to us that everyone picked up the phone and voted for us. It makes a huge difference going into the competition knowing we're the public's choice."
