Esther Rantzen, a patron of a charity for child abuse victims, is facing the sack from the same charity due to allegations that she ignored warnings over Jimmy Savile.
Esther, who has been with the charity since it was built 15 years ago, no longer appear on the charity’s website according to The Sun.
Founder Peter Saunders said: “In the light of her admission that she heard rumours about Savile but did nothing, I am going to ask the trustees if they feel she is an appropriate patron.
“A number of people have contacted us to say they don’t feel she is.”
Esther on the other hand talked about the issue saying: “We all blocked our ears to the gossip. There was gossip, there were rumours.”
Esther is also putting her fate on the hands of trustees saying: 'At the end of the day it is their (the trustees) decision if they remove me as patron, that's for them to decide.'
