16:50 29 April 2021
Essex County Council has partnered with Millbrook Healthcare and Provide CIC for the development of technology-based solutions that aim to support independent living for its adult social care programme.
According to the documents, Millbrook was awarded a £32million contract to deploy telecare in vulnerable people's homes. The company will provide assistive technology to support those with disabilities or sensory impairments, deploy mobile apps to support independence and will provide remote monitoring for people to communicate with professionals through virtual channels.
Provide CIC, on the other hand, will be responsible for the monitoring and response service. Under the £18million contract, the firm will provide a monitoring centre staffed by trained call handlers who will monitor, triage and respond to citizen's calls and alerts received by the mobile response centre from the adult's care technology provided by Millbrook.
Lee Davies, commercial director for Millbrook Healthcare said: “We are delighted to work with Essex County Council and Provide CIC in the provision of technology services. This working partnership will deliver huge value to the county and the community it serves and is completely aligned to Millbrook Healthcare’s commitment to develop technology based solutions that enable and support independent living.”
