Star couple become parents for the first time...

Model Abbey Clancy and footballer Peter Crouch are celebrating the birth of their first child.

Abbey gave birth to a baby girl, weighing in at seven pounds nine ounces, on 15 March.

The couple have named her Sophia Ruby.

A source confirmed that:

"Mother and daughter are doing brilliantly.

"Abbey and Peter are over the moon. They are completely in love with her."

Twenty-five-year-old Abbey has said previously that she thought she was having a boy.

She told This Morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford:

"I think it's a boy from looking at the scans...it's too boisterous to be a girl!"

The couple got engaged in July 2009 however their relationship has had its ups and downs, after it was alleged that Tottenham Hotspurs player Crouch had cheated on Clancy with a teenage prostitute last August.

Just weeks after the claims were made public. Abbey announced she was pregnant.

The Liverpudlian model now insists their relationship is back on track, saying:

"I'm fine. WeÂ’re both fine. WeÂ’ve got our little baby coming. There are worse things that have happened."
