Superstar says he canÂ’t compete with Gaga...

Sir Elton John has revealed that he will not be releasing any more solo material after admitting he just canÂ’t compete with the singers of today.
Although he would be indulging in ‘little side projects’, including a collaboration with Scissor Sisters, he no longer feels he can outsell the likes of Lady Gaga.
The 63-year-old singer told GQ magazine: “Look, I’m 63. I don’t want to be on VH1 or MTV. I’m not going to compete with JLS or Lady Gaga.
“I’m at that stage where I don’t think I can write pop music any more. I can’t sit down and do a proper rock song. It was OK when I was 25 or 26, but not anymore.
“I like to do my little side projects like Scissor Sisters and have fun, but I don’t think Elton John will be putting any pop singles out.”
Despite naming controversial star Lady Gaga as a competitor, he is rumoured to be making an appearance on her new album.
Sir Elton John has had a lucrative career since forming one the music industryÂ’s most successful song-writing partnerships with Bernie Taupin in 1967.
His songs are famed across the globe and he can boast more than 50 Top 40 hits and more than 250 million records sold over the last five decades.
