Sir Elton John was forced to postpone tour dates after he was diagnosed with appendicitis. The singer is expected to undergo surgery in the next few weeks. He was also advised by doctors to not push through with his concerts until he is fully recovered.
He had to cancel his Hype Park gig scheduled this weekend after he fell ill during his recent European tour. He also has scheduled performances in early September to Leeds, Bestival, and in London.
The 66-year-old legendary performer is now being treated with a course of intensive antibiotics and is expected to undergo surgery in the UK in the coming weeks.
His spokesperson said: "Elton is incredibly disappointed to postpone these tour dates. To know that he made such super-human efforts and continued to perform to thousands through his illness only confirms his dedication to his European fans."
