Ellie Goulding gets first UK #1 single
Ellie Goulding has scored her first UK number one single with her song, ‘Burn’.

Ellie Goulding’s first number single ‘Burn’ has sold 117,000 copies according to the Official Charts Company beating Lady Gaga’s ‘Applause’. Miley Cyrus’s ‘We Can’t Stop’ grabbed the number 3 spot.
This is the first time that Ellie has secured a UK number 1 single. Her previous highest rating was in 2010 when her cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ hit the number 2 spot.
Burn is part of Ellie’s album Halcyon which went up to number 19 in the album chart.
This is a dream come true for the 26-year-old singer. Talking to the Official Charts Company, she said: "It means the world to me to be number one at the moment. It was always my dream to have a UK number one single and it's been a long time coming."
Meanwhile, the three entries that made it to the top 20 singles chart include Artic Monkeys’ ‘Why’d You Call Me When You’re High’, The Wanted’s ‘We Own the Night’, and Ray Foxx’s ‘Boom Boom’.
