Charlie Clements, who plays the unlucky romantic Bradley Branning in EastEnders, has quit the soap.
The actor will leave in a sensational storyline to celebrate the showÂ’s 25th anniversary in February.
The Daily Mirror reported that the producers have ensured that his screen exit will be one of the show's most memorable in its history.
Before he goes, a subplot sees his character briefly reunited with his ex-wife Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Clements stated: "I have been at EastEnders for nearly four years and I have enjoyed every minute with some fantastic storylines. But I feel that now is the time to take on some new roles."
One of most memorable storylines was when his marriage to Stacey came to a bitter end after she had an affair with his father.
Since then Stacey has battled with her bi-polar disorder, while Bradley emigrated to Canada with his new girlfriend Syd.
A soap insider revealed: "BradleyÂ’s emigration only lasts for six weeks before he gets called back to Albert Square early next month because of a family crisis.
"It isnÂ’t long before he realises he still has feelings for Stacey and doesnÂ’t know what to do."
EastEnders boss Diederick Santer stated: "Viewers will miss Charlie hugely and I can promise a big exit. I know heÂ’ll go on to great things."
