Durham County Council is the latest to join an initiative promoted by the UK Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government, and the Government Digital Service. It recently signed a Local Digital Declaration and has committed to deliver better value for money in the internet age.
Cllr Joy Allen, who signed the declaration on behalf of Durham County Council, said: “There are new digital tools and advances in technology being made all the time. By signing this declaration we are promising to use these resources, along with the knowledge we can gain from sharing information with other local authorities, to transform our services for the benefit of the public. As signatories of the Local Digital Declaration we will also be able to apply for additional funding to improve our current digital services further.”
