Several published studies have suggested that long terms use of vitamins may harm one’s health.
Although the data does not present direct cause and effect, the thought of taking vitamins resulting to health problems, particularly to older people, is unsettling.
However, taking vitamins, when done correctly, can also be beneficial to one’s health. The only time you may be put in harm’s way is when you perhaps take more than what is recommended. The problem is, some people do not know how much is too much. In fact, some are just following what is advertised.
To stay safe, consult with your doctor before taking any supplements..
Carefully read the labels and add up the quantities of individual minerals and vitamins that you’re taking. Then, know the recommended daily allowance and make sure that you do not exceed this.
Also, before taking any new supplement, ask your doctor if these will interact with some of the supplements that you’re already taking.
