Disney Streaming Service
Disney's forthcoming streaming service can expect support from millennials, a survey has found.

A recent Morning Consult survey has found that up 36per cent of US users aged 18 to 29 years old are willing to subscribe to new Disney streaming service when it becomes available in 2019. Currently, the two biggest names in streaming are Netflix and Amazon. Two-thirds of millenials pay for Netflix, while Amazon Prime has 28per cent market share.
The result of the survey fits with a larger trend that sees millenials willingness to adopt more than one service for media consumption. One of the proofs is the study released yesterday by Nielsen showing that nearly 60per cent of millenials were using two or more apps for music streaming. As Nielsen explained it, younger users are not reducing their media consumption across one medium largely due to all the options at hand.
The new Morning Consult study also found that Disney’s new service would be seen as an addition to users’ existing bundles. Of those who said that they would subscribe, 58per cent said it would be in addition to other streaming options. Only 34per cent said it would replace another service.
