Digital Planning System for Derbyshire Council
Derbyshire Council to reform digital planning system.
16:01 29 January 2022
North East Derbyshire District Council has recently become one of the 10 local authorities in the United Kingdom to use the latest technology to access planning services. The technology provides digital access that would make it easier to look up applications online.
The new planning services will be run by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities along with a group of pioneering councils. They will follow the principles set forth by the Local Digital Declaration designed to ensure that outputs are shared openly with other LPAs.
North East Derbyshire District Council Cabinet Member for Planning, Cllr Charlotte Cupit said:
“Our council is always looking to use new technologies to help make things easier for our residents and businesses.
"We are delighted to be successful in being part of these innovative councils who are working together to ensure the planning system is transparent and as easy as possible to navigate and use.
“This project is an exciting one and will play a vital role in continuing to reforming our planning system and delivering more effective planning services.”
