Depp's new nightclub
Film
09:30 31 August 2005
Johnny Depp is to become a nightclub owner again.
The Hollywood heartthrob - who used to own Hollywood's infamous Viper Room, where actor River Phoenix died of a drugs overdose - has invested in Las Vegas nightspot the Empire Ballroom.
Johnny, who starred in the movie 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas', and his business partner, Salvatore Jenco, are hoping to restore the club to "an era of lost elegance and service."
Johnny is not the only Hollywood star to go into the nightclub business - it was recently reported that George Clooney wants to open a string of glamorous bars.
The handsome star is said to be teaming up with fellow bachelor Brad Pitt, who will do the interior design.
The swanky nightspots are likely to open along the west coast of America - and, if successful, Clooney will expand the chain worldwide.
Clooney has already been spotted looking at properties in both Las Vegas and Arizona.
