David Beckham and Jennifer Lawrence top Valentine's selfie wishlist

A survey participated in by 2,000 UK residents revealed the dream celeb selfie partners for Valentine's Day.

Smartphone giant HTC has conducted a survey that was participated in by 2,000 UK residents to identify the ultimate celebrity that they would love to have a selfie taken with.

While former Manchester United and England star David Beckham was the top choice in male, Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence dominated the women category.

Beckham came ahead of actor Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake while Lawrence beat Rihanna and Katy Perry to take the top spot. Missing from the podium position for women was the queen of the selfie - reality star Kim Kardashian (pictured).

Meanwhile, the participants were also asked to name the famous selfie that they would like to recreate. The best one is of course, the one with Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars where she was joined by Hollywood A-listers including Bradley Cooper, Angelina Jolie and Kevin Spacey. Germany striker Lukas Poldolski’s World Cup snap was also chosen.

The selfie is a modern phenomenon with an estimated 11 million 18-30 years old posting selfies last year.
