50-year-old Robert Boon, who is a blind darts player, has been reported to the Department of Work and Pensions after he scored 61,000 points in a 10-hour charity event in Paignton, Devon.
His eligibility to claim benefits was assessed by the DWP, which later decided to not cut Mr Boon’s benefits after medical records confirmed that he was completely blind in one eye and was only able to see shadows in the other.
He held the charity event at Pond Coffee Shop in Paignton to raise £10,000 so he can buy two guide dogs.
