Rodney Blackstock is about to launch a desperate last-ditch attempt to recover his lost fortune.

The 'Emmerdale' antiques tycoon - played by Patrick Mower, 66 - lost all his money to the Inland Revenue and is so determined to earn some cash that he makes an unusual alliance - Zak Dingle.

The unlikely pair will be selling scrap metal, but when Rodney's young girlfriend Kelly Windsor learns of his new job, she hastily ditches him.

A source revealed: "Things are going from bad to worse. Not only has Rodney lost all his money and been forced to work with Zak, he's lost his girl.

"Having a scrap metal dealer for a boyfriend is a big turn-off for Kelly."

Adele Silva, 25, who plays Kelly, admits she isn't surprised the relationship has finished and says dumping Rodney is Kelly's first step on the rocky road back to bitchiness.

She explained to Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Kelly's getting naughtier by the day and now she's free and single its going to get worse. I love playing Kelly so I hope she will be staying in the Dales for a bit longer."
