Troubled CSI actor Gary Dourdan filed for bankruptcy in August, TMZ reports. The 45-year-old actor, who played analyst Warrick Brown in the original series for eight years, is understood to have around $1.8million assets and $1,689,704million debt, according to reports.
He owes several banks money including Union Bank, which apparently holds the mortgage of his home that may be in default.
Based on reports, Dourdan has previously said that he earns $14,883 per month and pays monthly bills averaging to $14,562 per month. This leaves him with only $321 disposable income each month.
However, the actor has also reportedly said that he’s anticipating major acting roles in the future that could be used to pay off his debt.
Under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, a company or an individual is protected from claims by creditors while it attempts to reorganize its finances under a plan approved by the court.
